From our friends at the PT Group:
Running is one of the most common ways for Americans to exercise. It makes sense because running is very simple. You can do it in any weather, you don’t need an open field or expensive equipment, and you don’t need an opponent or partner.
But just because running is a simple way to get out and exercise, runners are not immune to injuries. Not wearing the proper footwear, overtraining, and poor form can all lead to a variety of injuries to runners.
So what injuries are the most prevalent in runners? According to Competitor Magazine, they are: plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinitis, IT band syndrome, runner’s knee and shin splints.
