According to Cancer.org, breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in women, exceeded only by lung cancer. On October 26, 2013, Longwood at Oakmont, a Presbyterian Senior Care Continuing Care Retirement Community in Plum, has partnered with Exhale Yoga Studo to host ‘Fitness for a Cure’, which will benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation, Pittsburgh Affiliate.
During the event, Melissa Roden of Exhale Yoga Studio will lead attendees through a relaxing yoga session modified for people of all age. Bethany Narey of Health Enhancing Thermography will provide early detection information about the disease, and breast cancer survivors will share their inspiring stories. Lunch to be provided. Seating for this event is limited. Guests are encouraged to make a $5 to $10 donation. To register, please visit www.longwoodatoakmont.com/info or call 877-214-8410.
