Why Western Medicine Isn’t Enough

Screen Shot 2013-06-26 at 8.50.12 AMWhat would you do if you were told by Western medical experts to expect nothing more than days that would progress from bad to worse for the rest of your life?

Holly Reese chose her own way.

Her new book, Rising from the Abyss: My Journey into and out of Chronic Illness, describes her complicated and emotional journey as she succumbs to a terrible, rare, auto-immune illness called Mixed Connective Tissue Disorder. Reese submits to the harsh cycle of Western drugs before she decides to quit and embark on her own healing journey using alternative medicine.

“I want to inspire hope and let people know they can accomplish the impossible, come from the bottom of the abyss and create wellness for themselves,” said Reese “My goal is to encourage people to take action, manifest the health they want and get their own lives back.”

Reese is an acupuncturist, herbalist, wellness coach and founder of the Inspire Wellness Center. She seeks to guide individuals back to health using natural and holistic healing alternatives such as acupuncture, nutritional remedies, qigong, meditation and educational tools.

Reese feels that Western medicine has failed her in many ways. Her book highlights the flawed aspects of the US health care system with its overreliance on the pharmaceutical industry and focuses instead on alternatives to Western medicine that help nourish the whole body, mind and spirit.

Throughout her healing journey, Reese listened to higher spiritual guides that helped her to discover how she can create miracles of healing. In the process of healing, she learned self-forgiveness and finds her true destiny in life. Her story of rising from chronic illness will help to inspire hope in others.
