What Salt To Use?

In recent years, there has been an increase in the fight against excessive use of salt every year. Salt is indicated as one of the main causes of modern civilization diseases, such as diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular problems. Is it right?

Is salt actually bad?

Individuals and institutions briskly supporting their accusations with the results of various research forget to mention that these studies concern the influence of white, refined, purified – a poor cousin of real salt, which people have been eating for hundreds of years.

The salt is just like with sweeteners, which I wrote about in an article that you will find here – people stopped tasting in a natural form, so they decided to clean it. Refining – purification of salt from all other (over 60) beneficial minerals for humans, leaving only pure sodium chloride with the addition of anti-caking agents. Something like that cannot really serve healthy eating!

The human body is subconsciously striving for self-regulation – if you eat purified salt (deprived of natural micronutrients), then your mind demands delivery by reacting with increased salty appetite. Such a positive deadly feedback!

Also a question! For salting naturally to make the food taste better! But or only?Well, no!Providing the right amount of natural raw salt is very important for healthy well-being.

The salt is responsible for the sodium-potassium economy (maintaining the proper acidity) of our body. Most of the dishes that we eat (meat, cereals, some vegetables, legumes) have a potassium advantage (they acidify the body).

The presence of salt (sodium chloride), which has an alkalizing effect, balances potassium and helps maintain the neutral pH of our blood. Now you know why meat tastes best with salt

Facilitates digestion, increases the secretion of digestive juices and prevents toxins in our body, facilitates their removal and soothes the effects of their presence. In addition, it supports the work of the kidneys, which thanks to it better regulate the flow of fluids in the body.

Finally, it facilitates concentration and supports thought processes. One of the metaphors says that the crystalline nature of salt translates into the clarity of the user’s thoughts.

Which salt to use

Any natural salt available for the potatoes was created on the bottom of the oceans. The ancient dry seams indicate where the seas once were. The rock salt extracted from the earth lacks part of the primary minerals initially found in sea salt, because for millennia they were washed away by rains. In addition, in the meantime, various other minerals, found in the substrate immediately adjacent to the rock salt deposits, have penetrated into it.

The mineral composition of sea salt is the closest to the human blood profile, hence sea salt seems the most appropriate. On the other hand, the systematically progressing process of pollution of the seas and oceans directly translates into the amount of impurities contained in the salt obtained from seawater.

Is there any source of rock salt that has been left untouched by rainwater in the last few thousand years?Yes, in the highest mountains of the Earth – the Himalayas. It was created during the period when the atmosphere and waters of the oceans were crystal clear and survived in dry conditions to this day – Himalayan salt.

As I wrote, thousands of years ago it has been closed in a capsule (glacier) and has survived intact until today. In addition to sodium chloride, which constitutes 85% of its composition contains 15% of other valuable minerals such as iodine, magnesium, zinc, iron and calcium – no additional iodization required!

Due to the large admixture of natural minerals (including iron) it has a characteristic pink color. In trade it is available in a mill with quite large crystals, as well as smaller crystals, which can be poured into a salt shaker.
