Ninth Annual Big Blue Quest to Raise Awareness of Colon and Rectal Cancer

North Park 5K Run, 2K Walk April 21 Benefits Local Cancer Patients

The Ninth Annual Big Blue Quest is set for Saturday, April 21 at North Park, with registration beginning at 8 a.m. Benefiting the West Penn Allegheny Health System Center for Colon and Rectal Surgery, the Big Blue Quest raises awareness that colon and rectal cancers are preventable, treatable and beatable.

Co-chairs James McCormick, DO, Chief, Division of Colorectal Surgery, West Penn and Forbes Regional hospitals;  Paul Lebovitz, MD, System Chair, Department of Gastroenterology and Director, Allegheny Center for Digestive Health, and Shyam Thakkar, MD, Gastroenterologist, Allegheny Center for Digestive Health, invite you to this 5K Run/2K Fun Walk to raise awareness and funds for colorectal surgery research.

Participants have the opportunity to walk or run alongside colorectal cancer survivors and learn about the prevention of this disease. Competitive runners can register with Runner’s High for a chance to earn medals in a variety of categories for all ages. Froggy Radio will provide entertainment.
