Local Celebrities to be Featured in Support of Pittsburgh Women Battling Cancer

hair_peace_logoCulinary delights served by local celebrities wearing aprons, specialty martini bar, live music and a silent auction featuring airline tickets, combine to create a memorable evening for a wonderful cause as Hair Peace Charities hosts its 8th annual Recipe for Hope fundraiser. The event will begin at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, February 23that the Mayernik Center on Camp Horne Road.

Hair Peace Charities is a nonprofit organization founded in 2005 by Bonny Diver, a local radio personality and a breast cancer survivor. Its mission is to support local women fighting cancer by providing them with $150 towards the cost one wig. Hair Peace also offers support through a prayer network and a support circle focusing on healthy options in the long term life battle over cancer.

“Recipe for Hope promises to be a fun and meaningful evening for all of our guests,” says Diver. “As a cancer survivor myself, I encourage anyone who has a soft spot in their hearts for women who have undergone cancer treatment to come out and support this premier event.”
