Forbes Regional Hospital Opens Advanced Wound Healing Center

Forbes Regional Hospital is now seeing patients in its new Advanced Wound Healing Center. The Center offers services for the evaluation and management of non-healing wounds.

In addition to being painful and embarrassing, a non-healing wound can limit a person’s ability to function to his or her full potential. Wound healing is also often impacted by other health problems such as diabetes, heart disease, immune disorders and breathing difficulties. The main goal for treatment at the Advanced Wound Healing Center is to create an individual holistic plan of care in partnership with the patient to help facilitate the wound healing process.

The Advanced Wound Healing Center at Forbes Regional is led by Medical Directors, Carlos Rosales, MD and Alessia Tandin, MD and Program Director, Jill Eberle, CRNP, CWS. Dr. Rosales is a board-certified vascular surgeon who has expertise in the evaluation and management of acute and chronic lower extremity ulcers that are particularly difficult to heal due to underlying vascular disease.

Dr. Tandin is a board-certified general surgeon who has expertise in general surgery, microsurgery, hyperbaric medicine and advanced wound care for the patient with acute chronic wounds.

The Program Director, Ms. Eberle, is a Family Nurse Practitioner certified in wound care through the American Board of Wound Management. She has expertise in the evaluation and management of acute and chronic wounds and helping patients to achieve wound closure.

“We are very happy to offer this important service to the residents of the eastern suburbs,” said Ms. Eberle. “It is important for patients to have accessible, quality care close to home. Our goal is to be a patient-focused Wound Center that offers individuals options for advanced wound care treatments when conservative interventions are not successful.”

The Advanced Wound Healing Center is located on the campus of Forbes Regional Hospital in Professional Office Building One, suite 306. To schedule an appointment or to speak with a member of the Center’s staff, call 412.858.4388.
