The Allegheny County Department of Health will start offering flu vaccinations on Monday at its Oakland clinic without appointments while supplies last.
Influenza infections typically do not peak until January or February, but early vaccination is recommended, said county health director Dr. Karen Hacker, who plans to get vaccinated this week.
“It really becomes more concerning in the winter season, but we really want people to be vaccinated before that happens,” Hacker said.
