Asbury Heights Welcomes Dementia Expert Teepa Snow

Two Free Seminars at Asbury Heights to Address Current Dementia Issues

Asbury Heights is pleased to welcome Teepa Snow, MS, OTR/L, FAOTA, nationally renowned dementia expert, who will speak on the topics Typical Progression of Dementia – What You Can Do To Help on Tuesday, March 5 and Building Hands-On Caregiver Skills for Persons with Dementia on Wednesday, March 6. Both presentations take place in the Social Room from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Teepa Snow is an occupational therapist with more than 30 years of experience and has received national recognition for her expertise in geriatrics, dementia care and staff training.

During her first presentation, sponsored by Family Hospice & Palliative Care, Snow will discuss dementia treatments and communication and will help attendees to better understand cognitive changes associated with dementia and why dementia patients act the way that they do.

Snow’s second presentation, sponsored by Gallagher Home Health Services, teaches the Positive Physical Approach and its importance in providing care or help with distress to best care for loved ones.
