4 Common Skincare Mistakes That Age You

1. Sleeping with makeup on

You might think that it is no big deal to get into bed with the day’s makeup still on your face. This is one of the biggest skin care mistakes you could be making. The makeup will congest and clog your skin which will lead to a dry complexion. With age, the skin becomes dry and makeup is of no help when it is left to sit on the skin for long hours. You need to spend a few minutes cleaning the face before bed. Always keep a pack of facial cleansing wipes near the bed so that you can quickly wipe off the debris from your skin before you hit the sack. 

2.     Avoiding sunscreen

Nothing can damage your skin as much as the harmful UV rays from the sun. A grey sky is not an excuse for skipping the SPF. UVA rays can penetrate the thick clouds and impact your skin. Hence, you need to protect the skin with sunscreen throughout the year whether you are inside or headed outside. Use sunscreen every day and reapply it every two hours when you are out in the sun. 

3.    Never taking a break from makeup

This is one mistake you need to stop making. Detox the skin by leaving it makeup-free at least once or twice in the week. Makeup does look great but it gets into the pores and causes sagging. You need to spend an entire day barefaced and allow the skin to breathe. You will notice that the pores actually shrink. Give your face a deep cleanse in the morning and follow it by a generous application of hydrating moisturizer. Allow the skin to absorb them during the day.

4.   Not drinking enough water

Alcohol and caffeine are a part of life but the excess of anything can cause damage to your health and skin. If you go too long without water, it will lead to dehydration and will have a serious impact on health. A healthy liver will help you flush out the toxins and will keep your skin looking healthy and youthful. Drink at least one glass of water for every glass of alcohol or every cup of coffee you consume. If you remain well hydrated, you will notice the results on your skin.

Avoid these mistakes to keep your skin looking fit and healthy at all times. Nobody likes to age and if you take good care of your health and body, you can avoid premature aging with minimal efforts.
